Oregon is a state in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. Salem is the state's capital and third-most-populous city; Portland is the most populous. Portland is the 29th-largest U.S. city.

Hawaii is the newest of the 50 U.S. states, and is the only U.S. state made up entirely of islands. The state encompasses nearly the entire volcanic Hawaiian Island chain spread over 1,500 miles.
